Priti Rao

Priti Rao is the Asia Director for Dalberg Design. Her expertise lies in helping organisations become purpose-led, and build a culture of innovation to solve complex global challenges. She works closely with teams and clients to combine data with field insights and bring a human-centred focus to civic design, financial inclusion, technology, and policy challenges.
 
At Dalberg, Priti has provided creative leadership to a range of clients such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Omidyar Network, CGAP and Dvara Research. These include helping policy-makers and financial service providers understand consumer needs related to data protection and privacy, creating a behavioural and attitudinal model to map low income consumer segments and designing relevant financial products for them, and helping investors understand and finance small enterprises in emerging markets. 
 
Prior to Dalberg, Priti spent five years at the award-winning design and innovation consultancy IDEO San Francisco and Mumbai, helping corporate clients such as Samsung, Nike, Dr. Reddy’s, Tata, Bupa, Intercontinental Group, Zalando, Huntington Bank and Pacific Life Insurance to bring new products, services and brand innovations to markets across Asia, Europe and North America. Her early years were spent building two successful social enterprises in the Indian Himalayas and Araku Valley linking small farmers to global markets. Priti has a PhD in Service Design from Northumbria School of Design, and an MA in Governance and Development from IDS Sussex.
