Based in Kigali, Rwanda, CJ Fonzi is an Associate Partner at Dalberg Advisors and the Director of Innovation for the Dalberg Group. As a consultant, CJ focuses on entrepreneurship ecosystems, SME finance and support, impact investing, and youth livelihoods and employment. He has worked with public and private sector investors, bi- and multi- lateral donors, non-profits, and multinational companies. As Director of Innovation, CJ shepherds Dalberg’s efforts to identify, innovate, and support new businesses – both within and outside of the Dalberg Group – that contribute to inclusive and sustainable global growth.
CJ joined Dalberg in early 2012 after serving as part of the founding team of Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN). Previously CJ served as a M&E manager at Clinton Foundation’s Health Access Initiative (CHAI) a Base of the Pyramid project coordinator for DuPont. CJ sat on the Obama Administrations Council of Experts for the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship summit, and has sat on the steering committee for the Aspen Network for Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) in South Africa. He holds an MBA from Cornell University with a concentration in Sustainable Global Enterprise and a BS with high honors from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Information Technology.
