About a third of all rural households in the country defecate in the open. It has long been assumed that low-income families in rural India do not want or cannot afford a household toilet. New research suggests that this is not true.
Mark Freedman is a Partner in Dalberg’s New York office. Mark comes to Dalberg after 27 years at BCG, where he was a senior partner in New York and Paris. Among other roles, Mark was BCG’s global leader for Industrial Goods, as well as founder and leader of the infrastructure and water practices. Mark was also active in both the Public Sector and in Social Impact while at BCG, and led the firm’s partnership with Save the Children International. Before BCG, Mark spent 7 years with Save the Children-US, mostly in Burkina, Cameroon, and Zimbabwe.
